FIRST LOOK: Primary Arms Classic Series 1-4x24mm SFP Rifle Scope

While researching budget low powered variable optics (LVPOs) and red dots, Primary Arms is a name that seems to come up quite often — when we found this scope as a new, but blemished on eBay, we had to take advantage of the price and see what all of the hype is about. Being a blemished item, I had some concerns on exactly what we would be getting, but for the most part, it is as expected.

Here are our initial impressions and photos of the Primary Arms Classic Series 1-4x24mm SFP Rifle Scope.

PROS:
  • Price – $99,  purchased as a blem
  • Reticle – plain … and I am surprised at how much I like it. The thick posts at 3, 6, and 9 0’clock should allow for quick target acquisition
  • Extra CR2032 storage in the elevation turret

CONS:
  • TBD!

After we’ve had the chance to get some range time with this scope we’ll update this post and complete a full review.

Some random thoughts:

  • Due to a possible oversight, I may have received a used rather than a blemished, but new scope. I am currently emailing with PA’s customer service and they have been very responsive regarding this issue.
  • Size – remember to read the size specs when buying a scope! I thought I might use this on a Ruger Charger 10/22 Takedown build, but I’m rethinking this after receiving it. When the pistol brace is folded and the barrel is removed, this scope is longer than any section of the firearm. It might be better suited for a full sized rifle or an AR (as seen in he gallery below).
